Job Select takes the protection of your personal information and privacy very seriously. Because of the nature of our services, we must work with personal data. Personal Information Collection Statement

Job Select makes this statement in compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. This Statement is intended to inform you of the reason for collecting your personal information, to whom it will be transferred, and to whom data access requests will be sent.

For clarity, the purposes for which your personal information are used comprise:

  • Internal evaluation and candidate matching; marketing job vacancies and potential candidates to attract the right employers and candidates;
  • Conducting study into the domestic worker industry
  • To give domestic helpers with training
  • When processing an employment application, the required information must be submitted to the appropriate authorities.
  • To make insurance arrangements for domestic servants

Collection of information

In order to provide recruitment services, Job Select collects personal information from both Employers and Applicants. Depending on the goal of the data collection and the character of the individuals, the following information may be collected:

  • name
  • address,
  • nationality
  • occupation,
  • marital status
  • gender
  • date of birth
  • place of birth
  • contact information
  • identification document
  • employment history
  • background information
  • education
  • health data
  • income
  • financial information
  • Other information that is not otherwise publicly available.

Disclosure and Transfer of Data

Your personal information will be kept private by Job Select. Only our approved employees and local or international Job Select partner agencies will have access to and handle your personal information on a "need-to-know" basis. We may disclose your personal information to the following parties in or outside Hong Kong to the extent necessary for the reasons stated out in this PICS:

  • Government authorities;
  • Domestic workers agencies; and
  • Potential employers of domestic workers and domestic workers whom use our service.

We may also release your personal information if necessary or authorised by law, as well as in response to demands from law enforcement, government departments, or regulatory bodies.

We may disclose your personal information inside FE and with third parties, such as our partner organizations and agencies, as well as service providers, such as IT contractors, as needed for any of the above-mentioned purposes. When personal information is shared with third parties, it will only be shared with those third parties who are bound by FE's confidentiality obligations.

We will not release your personal information to any third parties without your prior authorization, save to the parties and for the purposes stated out in this policy.

Retention, Access and Alteration of Data

We will not keep your personal information for longer than is necessary unless you give your agreement or there is a compelling reason to do so.

You have the right to access any personal information we have about you, and you can do so by contacting our Data Protection Officer at the address listed below. You have the right to have inaccuracies or out-of-date personal information corrected.
